Why Do They Come - or not?
Limited Capacity seats available

With focus on China, this session will examine the reasons parents send their children to the U.S. for studies. In sum, they are the following:1. honor the (God-given) dignity of my child because the system or culture is trying to take it away.2. shelter and/or restore my child 3. advance socio-economically. In some ways, many of our students are refugees, including those with money.  They are needy.  We should not worry about evangelizing them but to just love them with a wide variety of cups of cold water.

Practical Steps Toward Social Justice Integration in the English Classroom
Limited Capacity seats available

Scripture is full of commands to do justice—so what does that look like in our everyday teaching? We’ll discuss how to bring social justice principles into the classroom in the way that we teach as well as with what we teach. We'll end with a time where teachers can apply this knowledge to a unit from their own curriculum.
